Last week, the Asheville group featuring members of Tombstone Poetry, Headringer, Seven and a Half Giraffe, and Idle County announced the release of their self-titled debut album on March 11. Alongside the news, i26connector shared its first single, “Bethel” — a twangy ballad that beautifully blends alt-country and emo influences, conjuring the question: what if Mike Kinsella (American Football, Cap’n Jazz) and Jason Molina (Magnolia Electric Co.) had formed a band together?
Today, we get another taste of i26connector with the new single “Cut My Hair.” In under two and a half minutes, pedal steel winds through a bed of crunchy guitars as Caelan Burris sings about changing times. The distortion carries a raw, ’90s alt-rock edge, while the song also sits comfortably alongside recent Asheville exports MJ Lenderman and Wednesday.
The band also announced a handful of dates with Charlotte’s Motocrossed beginning on the album release day.
