Hard to believe, but it’s been 20 years since the legendary documentary Dig! captured the chaotic, intertwined journey of psychedelic rock icons The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Dandy Warhols. In tribute to one of their influences, Asheville heavyweights Bask have released a cover of BJM’s hazy psych-pop classic “Anemone.” While the band reins in some of its heavier metal instincts, their weighty interpretation adds a satisfying heft to the original. It’s a nice treat for fans eagerly awaiting Bask’s next release, expected later this year.
