Steel Pulse

Fifty years ago, Basil Gabbidon and David Hinds formed Steel Pulse, a band that would become a cornerstone of British roots reggae. Closely tied to the Rock Against Racism movement, Steel Pulse emerged from Birmingham’s scene with a sound and message that resonated deeply with the UK punk movement of the late ’70s. While the lineup has evolved over the years, founding vocalist/guitarist David Hinds and original keyboardist Selwyn Brown still lead the charge. Chances to see them in Asheville are few and far between—don’t miss this one.
