Local experimental legend Tashi Dorji has shared the second single from his upcoming album low clouds hang, this land is on fire, due out January 30 on Drag City. Following a pair of acoustic releases for the label, the new record marks a return to electric guitar. “burn the throne” unfolds as a gorgeous, contemplative piece, with Dorji’s playing reverberating through space and carrying a profound emotional weight. An abstract accompanying video by Philippe Léonard—film projectionist for Godspeed You! Black Emperor—perfectly complements the track’s somber, searching improvisation.
low clouds hang, this land is on fire will be available on vinyl, cassette, and digitally. Fans can pre-order the album via bandcamp.
